Hemiptera v2 - WIP 4 - Fusing Parts & New Antennas

Realized I was guilty of something I hate in most exoskeleton concepts, when there's too many plates and/or the creature would be physically unable to move efficiently, so I decided to simplify the design, fused some of the plates, made the inner neck less rigid and rafined the antennas (the different colors are different objects)

Hadopelagic King v2 - WIP 1 - Reshaping the King

Always like my Crab Boï, but I feel like I learned a lot since 3 years ago, and I'm making a second version with more credible articulations, menacing shapes and imposing stance. I'm imagining it coming out of the water. It's going to be a long journey, since I want to UV that monster and texture it in Substance Painter.... yep, It'll take a while but it's getting somewhere!

Necronom X - WIP 6.1 - Skull & Dentition

Working on the skull. Trying to get it to look creepier and less evil. Though I'm happy with the progress on the dentition. The idea is that when the mouth opens, the teeth align like a circle which lets the proboscis/tongue pass through.

Necronom X - WIP 6 - Rafinement

Reworked everything... pretty much, haha. Now there's a lot more contrast in the shapes, less flat. Really happy with the silhouette so far. The back is all new, not done with it, but it's getting somewhere. Closed the mooth and revised a lot of its features, Now it's more akin to Giger's paintings. Don't worry, the teeth are still there ;)

Necronom X - WIP 5.5 - New Torso Comparison

Decided to go with a more slim design for the back. I thought to myself "Would it be able to crawl through an air vent to catch a victim?". The long back tubes screamed "No" for me, so I looked at an early Giger design and tried a compromise between the two.The goal is that the alien can rotate its head 90* upward and it would fit between the "shoulder blades" without adding too much volume to the silhouette.

Necronom X - WIP 5 - Lunch Break Sculpting

The forehead is now more uniformly slanted and no longer bulbous. Resculpted the skull to look less goofy with smaller eye sockets and better proportions. Added more human-like lips. Replaced the back tubes by something similar to an early Giger design. I'm not happy with the back yet, too noisy. Also, showing the "tongue" I've been working on. Something made to either impale from a longer distances or to penetrate a victim and rip them apart from the inside.
